Bronx Local News: Chain Snatchers Attack Women Throughout Bronx

NYPD Investigators Have Linked the Same Crew to at Least 5 Robberies Throughout Bronx

BRONX LOCAL NEWS - The NYPD is reaching out to the public for help identifying a pair of individuals connected to a series of similar robberies across several Bronx precincts. All of the incidents share the same unsettling pattern: a suspect approaching a woman from behind, snatching her jewelry, and then hopping into a waiting white Mercedes-Benz sedan before taking off.

Police say the robberies took place throughout the fall of 2025, affecting neighborhoods across the 41st, 42nd, and 43rd Precincts. Here’s what investigators have shared so far.

Back on September 4th, just before lunchtime, a 53-year-old woman was walking near Manida Street and Garrison Avenue when someone came up from behind and ripped the jewelry from her neck. The force of the attack knocked her to the ground.

First responders took her to Lincoln Hospital, where she was treated and later listed in stable condition.

As in all of these cases, the suspect jumped into a white Mercedes-Benz driven by an accomplice and vanished.

A few weeks later, on September 24th, just after 1:30 pm, a 38-year-old woman standing outside 1349 Stratford Avenue was approached from behind. This time, the attacker punched her in the face before grabbing her necklace.

Despite minor injuries, she declined medical attention.

Again, the suspect escaped in the same type of white Mercedes-Benz.

The pattern continued on October 17th around 9 a.m. behind 1075 Pugsley Avenue, where a 14-year-old girl was targeted. She suffered minor injuries after her jewelry was forcibly taken, and the suspect again fled into the getaway car.

Just a few weeks later, on November 7th, around 8:25 a.m., a 53-year-old woman outside 1334 Elder Avenue had her jewelry ripped from her neck. Like the previous victims, she also refused medical attention at the scene.

The most recent known incident happened on November 20th behind 1544 Boone Avenue. A 16-year-old girl had her jewelry stolen in the same manner. Fortunately, she wasn’t injured. The suspects, once again, disappeared in the familiar white Mercedes-Benz.

While the victims range in age from 14 to 53, the method remains alarmingly consistent: approach from behind, use force, steal jewelry, and speed off in the same getaway car. Investigators believe the same duo is responsible for all five incidents.

Police have released images of the individuals believed to be involved and are asking anyone with information—no matter how small it may seem—to come forward.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, on X @NYPDTips.

All calls are strictly confidential.
