The Winter Wonderland Extravaganza, held December 5 inside the courthouse rotunda, brought together hundreds of families for a night filled with music, lights, and community spirit. Hosted by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, the celebration has become a beloved tradition for families looking for free holiday activities in the Bronx.
This year, Bronx personal injury attorney Jacob Oresky partnered with Univision to donate a huge selection of toys and warm winter essentials to families in need. Oresky and his staff spent the evening personally handing out knitted wool caps, cozy blankets packed in duffel bags, and nearly 1,000 toys to children from neighborhoods across the borough.
Speaking about why he continues to support local community events, Oresky said:
“We understand how important community support and involvement is. There are a lot of hardworking families in the Bronx, but many are still facing real challenges, and that’s why it’s important for local businesses like ours to stay involved, show up, and give back whenever we can.”
Oresky, who grew up in the Bronx and has spent more than 30 years serving local residents, added:
“I’ve been serving the Bronx community for over 30 years. We are always involved in helping the community and our Bronx neighbors.”
This marks Oresky’s first year partnering with the Winter Wonderland event, though his firm is no stranger to community outreach. Just last month, Oresky & Associates participated in a Thanksgiving food drive in Queens, teaming up with Together We Can and Elmhurst Community Partnership Help to provide meals for dozens of families.
And of course, no holiday celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus himself. Children lined up excitedly to share their wish lists and pose for photos, making the night even more magical.
Events like this seasonal celebration highlight the power of local businesses, community leaders, and volunteers coming together to support Bronx families during the holiday season. For many parents, the gifts and warm clothing offered a little relief—and a lot of joy—during an especially busy time of year.
