Fordham Man Attacked, Slashed Across Face

BRONX LOCAL NEWS - The NYPD is investigating a disturbing attack in Fordham in which a resident was randomly attacked on the street and slashed across the face.
At around 2:30 am on October 28, a 44-year-old man was walking in front of 2705 Marion Avenue when he was attacked from behind. Investigators said a man dressed all in black ran up behind and punched the man in the back of the head.
The two struggled and the victim fell to the ground. Cops said the attacker jumped atop the victim, pulled out a sharp object and repeatedly slashed him across the face and the victim’s hand as the man tried to protect himself.
The slasher then ran off in an unknown direction. EMS rushed the victim to nearby Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was treated for multiple lacerations. He was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance video taken from the scene. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen a black hoodie, black pants and black sneakers.
