BRONX LOCAL NEWS - A Throggs Neck man has been hit with attempted murder and other charges for allegedly running over three women with his SUV outside a Bronx restaurant over the summer.

The defendant, 26-year-old James Dillon of Quincy Avenue, faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree attempted murder, six counts of first-degree assault, and several additional assault and reckless endangerment charges. Bail was continued, and Dillon is due back in court on January 22, 2026.

“This defendant is accused of turning his vehicle into a weapon,” said District Attorney Darcel Clark. “He allegedly drove recklessly onto a sidewalk and struck three women. Fortunately, no one died, but two of the victims are still dealing with serious injuries.”

According to the investigation, around 4:25 a.m. on July 20, a fight broke out in front of a bar at 3233 East Tremont Avenue. Dillon allegedly got into his Mitsubishi SUV and struck two women in the street. Then, he made a U-turn, drove onto the sidewalk, and hit a third woman, dragging her several yards before fleeing the scene.

The victims sustained serious injuries. One woman suffered spinal and pelvic fractures as well as a shattered collarbone, requiring multiple surgeries, while another had two brain bleeds and fractures in her left ankle, which also required surgery.
