The robbery spree lasted two weeks, between September 20 and October 6, 2025, and involved a group of men—alleged to be members of the Trinitarios gang—who used firearms to threaten and steal from victims.
The incidents were so brazen that the suspects were captured on video during the robberies. In total, the defendants allegedly stole gold chains, expensive watches, and rings, leaving their victims shaken and fearful.
The five defendants facing these serious charges are:
- Manuel Rivas, 20, of Newark, NJ
- Wilfren Carbuccia, 20, of the Bronx
- Anthony Perez, 29, of the Bronx
- John Doe, 16, of the Bronx (a minor)
- A fifth defendant who remains at large.
These individuals have been charged with multiple counts of robbery, conspiracy, and grand larceny. Rivas faces additional charges related to gun possession.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s office, the defendants wore masks during the robberies and would target people wearing expensive jewelry. They would then threaten victims at gunpoint, often holding guns directly to their heads or chests, and forcibly take their items. In some cases, they even used mopeds to block in victims in their vehicles, making escape impossible.
The group allegedly met up at two Bronx motels before and after the robberies, where they would inspect their stolen jewelry and discuss their next target.
Victims included a variety of people, such as:
- An elderly man sitting on a stoop in Kingsbridge, who was so traumatized by the robbery that he moved away within two weeks.
- A business owner in Mott Haven, who was cut off by the suspects on a moped before being robbed of his jewelry.
- A man standing outside a nightclub in Fordham Heights, who was also targeted.
- People sitting in their vehicles, who were blocked in by the suspects’ getaway car and robbed on the spot.
The Bronx DA’s Violent Criminal Enterprise Bureau, working with the Bronx Robbery Squad, Manhattan Robbery Squad, and the FBI/NYPD Westchester Safe Streets Taskforce, led the investigation into the crimes. Through video footage and other investigative tools, they were able to track the defendants and link them to the robberies.
One of the most shocking aspects of this case is the involvement of a 16-year-old. The teen was involved in a separate robbery on September 27, 2025, where he allegedly held a man at gunpoint with a pistol during a robbery at a Bronx apartment. He was charged in a separate indictment for that crime, in addition to his role in the robbery spree.
During his arraignment on November 20, 2025, the teen was denied bail, with the court setting his bail at $100,000 cash, or $500,000 bond.
The defendants were arraigned on various charges between November 20 and November 21, 2025. Carbuccia was remanded after his arraignment, while Rivas and Perez are still awaiting their arraignments. The 16-year-old was denied bail, with the court setting bail at a substantial amount.
While the investigation is ongoing, the authorities are still searching for one additional suspect who has yet to be apprehended.
In her statement, District Attorney Darcel D. Clark emphasized the fear and trauma caused by these robberies, noting that, while no one was shot, the victims had their lives threatened. “These defendants—including a 16-year-old—allegedly put guns to victims’ heads or chests and stole their jewelry in a spree that lasted two weeks,” she said. “We are fortunate that no one was shot, but these victims’ lives were threatened, and some are forever traumatized. No one should have to live that way.”
