BRONX - A crossing guard is recovering after being attacked by an unknown male as he tried to cross people at a busy intersection near Pelham Parkway, cops said. 


The NYPD released surveillance video of a suspect being sought in the assault on a Bronx crossing guard. Investigators also released a photo of the black SUV he drove off in after allegedly attacking the crossing guard. 


At around 3:35 pm on January 10, a 42-year-old crossing guard was crossing people on the corner of Maran Place and White Plains Road near Pelham Parkway. A man walked up to the crossing guard and began arguing.

QUEENS - Police have arrested a suspect in the push-in robbery in which an elderly woman was thrown to the floor and the robber menaced her with a knife. 


Cops said the suspect just started wailing on the crossing guard without warning. He repeatedly punched the guard in the head before fleeing. 



Cops said the attacker hopped into a black SUV and drove off. 


The victim was rushed by EMS to nearby Jacobi Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition. 


The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and hat with white lettering.
