BRONX - A 12-year-old girl is recovering after being slashed in the leg with a knife by a fellow student inside their Bronx classroom. A 14-year-old female student was arrested and a knife was recovered at the scene, the NYPD said.

At around 9:40 am today, cops from the nearby 43rd Precinct were called to JHS 123 James. M Kieran School in Soundview. Cops said a 12-year-old student was slashed in the leg with a knife inside the classroom. 

The young victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.

 

Woman Sexually Assaulted Near Karaoke Bar

NEW YORK - A woman standing outside a Queens karaoke bar was dragged into an alley and sexually assaulted by a man whose image was caught on surveillance video, the NYPD said.

Police arrested a 14-year-old female student at the school and recovered a knife. 

The case is still under investigation. The suspect’s name has not been released given the age of the accused. 

Investigators said the school does not have metal detectors.
