Traffic Agent Attacked, Threatened with Knife

BRONX - A traffic agent on the Grand Concourse was punched in the face and then threatened with a knife by a scooter riding attacker, cops said.


Police released surveillance video of a man riding a scooter on the sidewalk. Cops said this is the man who assaulted an on-duty traffic agent.



At around 8 am on August 30, the 26-year-old traffic agent was working on the corner of East Tremont Avenue and the Grand Concourse. A man on a black scooter rode up to the agent and began arguing with him. 



Suddenly, the scooter rider punched the traffic agent in the face. The attacker then pulled out a knife and threatened the victim.


The attacker then rode off northbound on the Grand. Concourse toward 177th Street.



EMS transported the traffic agent to BronxCare Health System where he was treated to bruising to the face.


The suspect is described as a male who is 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds. He has a medium complexion and a medium build.


He was last seen wearing a red baseball hat, a black t-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers.
