Straphanger Smashed in Face with Bottle

BRONX - A straphanger is recovering after being struck in the face with a glass bottle during a random attack on a Bronx subway platform. 


At around 4 am on September 5, a 68-year-old man was standing on the southbound platform for the Number 4 train at the East 161st Street station. Cops said an unknown man walked up to the straphanger struck in the face with a glass bottle. 



The attacker then fled the station in an unknown direction. EMS transported the victim to Lincoln Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. 


Cops said the victim suffered lacerations to the face and eye. 



Police released surveillance video taken from inside the subway station. 


The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black du-rag and black t-shirt.
