Bronx Man Charged with Fatally Stabbing Girlfriend in Neck

BRONX - A Bronx man was charged with fatally stabbing his girlfriend in the neck inside his apartment. 




Police arrested 35-year-old Shaheene Ahmad in the death of his girlfiend 23-year-old Zariah Hayes. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. 


At around 10:30 pm on September 14, officers from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call at 2552 Holland Avenue off of Pelham Parkway. Cops arrived at the apartment to find Hayes lying on the floor, bleeding with multiple stab wounds to her neck. 



Hayes was transported by EMS to nearby Jacobi Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. 


Police took Ahmad, the victim’s 35-year-old boyfriend, into custody at the scene. 


A knife was recovered at the scene.
