NEW YORK - A man stabbed on a subway train in East Harlem was treated in the Bronx in what cops are calling a dispute that turned violent. 




At around 6:40 pm on June 21, a 45-year-old man got into a verbal dispute with another rider inside a Bronx bound 5 Train in East Harlem. As the arguement  escalated, cops said, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the straphanger in the abdomen.



  

According to investigators, the attacker jumped off the train at the 125th Street Station and then ran up the stairs into the street and fled in an unknown direction. 


EMS raced to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln on 149th Street in the Bronx. The victim is recovering and is listed in stable condition. 



Police released surveillance video of the suspect who was last seen walking across a subway platform. It is unclear if the video was taken before or after the attack. 




The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion. He has a mustache and beard and has a large tattoo on his left forearm. He was last seen wearing a black NY Yankees baseball cap, black t-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He was also seen wearing eyeglasses.
