Subway Mugging in the Bronx

BRONX - Police are searching for a man who mugged a woman on a Bronx subway train.


At around 5:30 am on January 10, a 48-year-old woman was on a southbound “A” train. At the Westchester and Intervale Avenue station in Longwood she was approached by a man.


Cops say the man violently struggled with the woman to get her Samsung cell phone. 


After finally ripping the $1,000 cellphone from the commuter’s hand he fled the station.


EMS treated the woman at the scene for bruising to her arm and scratches to her hand.


Cops say the suspect is a man in his 30s with a dark complexion. He is six feet tall, 180 pounds with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
