Landlord of Burned Bronx Building Sued to Stop Heat Monitoring

Bronx Man Shot in Head Outside Bodega

BRONX - Police are searching for the gunman who shot a man in the head outside a Soundview grocery store. The victim survived the gunshot wound and police have released surveillance video of the suspect. 


At around 10 pm on December 30, a 24-year-old man was standing in front of Best Deli, at 1570 East 174th Street. Suddenly shots rang out and the man was struck in the head with one of the bullets. 


The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.  


Investigators said the gunman fled on foot and ran into the nearby Bronx River Houses. Police released surveillance video which shows the suspect exiting a stairwell at 1609 East 174 Street. 


Police have not released a motive at this time nor would they say whether the victim was the intended target. 


The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion who is in his mid 20s. He has a thin build and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, red vest, light blue jeans, black/red Jordan sneakers and a gray Nike mask.
