Bronx, New York — Two separate robberies in the Bronx this month escalated into violent assaults, leaving victims slashed in the face in both incidents, according to the New York City Police Department. While the cases occurred days apart and involved different suspects and locations, authorities say the similarities highlight an ongoing public safety concern involving group robberies and edged weapons.
Police are actively investigating both incidents and are asking for the public’s assistance as the suspects in each case remain at large.
Commercial Robbery Turns Violent on Westchester Avenue
The first robbery occurred on December 4, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., inside and directly outside a commercial establishment located at 410 Westchester Avenue.
According to police, a 19-year-old female employee and a 29-year-old male employee noticed three unidentified males and one unidentified female removing store merchandise from an unattended pallet positioned in front of the store. When the employees attempted to intervene, the situation quickly escalated.
One of the male suspects punched the 19-year-old woman in the face, while another suspect slashed the 29-year-old man across the face with a knife. The suspects then fled the scene on foot in unknown directions.
Despite their injuries, both victims refused medical attention at the scene. The value of the stolen merchandise remains unknown, and no additional injuries were reported.
The suspects in this Bronx commercial robbery are described as three males and one female, all with medium complexions and believed to be between 20 and 25 years old. Police released the following clothing descriptions:
- Male suspect #1: Long hair, blue sweatsuit, white sneakers
- Male suspect #2: Gray sweatshirt, multi-colored sneakers (punched the female victim)
- Male suspect #3: Blue coat, blue jeans, gray hat, white and blue sneakers
- Female suspect: White coat, black pants, black sneakers
Teen Slashed and Robbed of Shoes on East 135 Street
A second robbery involving a slashing took place just over a week later on December 12, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., in front of 361 East 135 Street, within the confines of the 40th Precinct.
Police say seven unidentified male suspects approached a 15-year-old boy on the street. During the encounter, the victim was slashed in the face, and the group forcibly removed his shoes before fleeing.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals / Harlem, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspects in this street robbery are described as seven males with dark complexions, approximately 14 to 17 years old, each with slender builds. Surveillance media connected to the incident has been obtained and is available through DCPI.
